If you havent seen Indiana Jones by now - dont read any further.
Aliens, Inter-Dimensional Travellers....call them what you will. They suck.
So does over-exaggerated CGI sequences.
And well....I'm afraid that's all I've got.
I liked the rest of it. I had fun, I cracked a few smiles. My heart filled with pride at the first Harrison Ford shaped shadow donning his fedora.
But there are explanations for all of the slightly sucky stuff...My film studies student side is screaming out referencing the paranoia of the 1950s and the Saucer phenomenon that was prevalent in the Cold War.
Even the killer ants are a reference to the movies of that era!
"Mutt" epitomised the rebellion of the 1950s - the birth of the teenager. Who questioned everything and not just blindly followed his parents instructions.
And yes...everyone could see the "Father" situation a mile away. Or however many kilometres there is in a mile.
But it was nice to know that Indy had family - especially considering everyone else had passed through his life. Perhaps in his old age, with his tired joints no longer being able to carry him through an adventure he COULD finally settle down with his one true love.
And note: he didnt relinquish his hat. No more sequels. No spin offs...or I hope not.
A greaser would ruin that hat with all his hair gel.

I heard rumors of a 5th movie when I was at the theater for the midnight showing.
I pray to God that it isn't true.
I liked the first Indy shadow, but it was way way over used.
I got the feeling that if Mr Jones was busy they would of asked Laura Croft to do it.
on the hat thing at the end to me said not yet son not yet, so more Indy Jones with Harrison as the lead.
Well the series was meant to be 5 movies long...but given the age of everyone involved I'm not sure they could stretch it that far.
And I dont think the fans would accept a substitute Indy.
Are you kidding? I can't even accept a fifth movie. lol
I'm not even allowing this fourth movie into my family circle. It'll always be the "other" movie.
oh lighten up.... indy is indy.. no matter how old he is... just like dirty harry is dirty harry.. age cannot weary them... admittedly it stretched believability to an all new low, but, I'd rather see another indy movie than none..
its just good to see harrison ford doing what he loves best.. rather than in 5-10 years time where he'll play someone's grandfather and have a noticeably smaller role...
he didn't call Mutt "Junior"!! i was so waiting for that!
and while i was half hoping to see him hand over the hat and sorta pass off the "Indiana Jones" to the son...you're right...there's only one Indy
